View Full Version : startin a lil rebuild need your jettin opinion

need your opinion on jetting for this??

05 450r
11.5 JE piston
HRC cam
hmf s/o
modified air box lid with k&n filter

just like to get an idea or what the jetting should be?? like main,poilt,leak jets!! any idea's at all would help or any other info!!!

I'm running a nearly identical setup. Im running 11.5:1 JE, HRC cam, Nmotion Full exhaust, UNI filter with no lid. RIght now Im at 185 main, needle on 5th clip down and a 52 pilot, also 2 2/2 turns out on the fuel screw. I also believe that my main is a tad rich. Which I prefer.

well... where's the best place to get indivuals jets and pilot jets at or you have to get a kit??

C&D racing will sell you seperate jets.

jet kits are the way to go, you should look into a full system exhaust, they help a lot, i bought my exhaust used and only paid 250 bucks for it.

Jet kits are NOT the way to go, unless you like spending extra money for nothing...

well i kinda dont know where my jetting was going to be, because i have had things done in the past, like before the exhaust, i jsut removed my airbox lid, and rejetted, and now i have the exhaust and now i have bigger jets, and i only paid 30 bucks for my kit, and it has 11 mj, a needle, and a couple of other things, so in my opinion for what i did, i think it was worth it,

$30 is probably worth the price yes, and most jet kits are more than double that cost though. I guess if you know you're not modding everything all at once, and really have no clue where to start a jet kit would be OK.
