backwards blaster

91 blaster start the thing put it in gear the thing runs backwards!
can the motor spin backwards?
someone told me to jump start it and will try that tomorrow.
did anyone have this problem ..... ever?

The keyway probly broke on the flywheel, causing the timing to be way off. When you kick the engine over the piston will reach top dead center then spin back slightly, the plug fires when the piston It rotating backwards giving you 6 gears In reverse. I saw this at trikefest with a Tecate 3 with a kx500 Ignition. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen.

so i guess a 2 stroke motor can spin backwards?

Yes, they can run backwards. Like Jason mentioned, check your ignition timing. I think every case of this I've heard of wound up being an ignition timing problem.

with the GasGas wild hp 300 thats how they got a reverse is by making the motor turn backwards.
