i was wondering if anyone knew or has had aluminum in their oil filters. i have an o6 450 change the oil every week which is only about three hours two of which are racing hours. air filter always cleaned valves in spec everymonth. i also had silver flake in the the motor oil. almost looked like clutch oil.

well.....with these it could be multiple things, but my guess would be the valves or piston going on you.

Valves wouldn't be aluminum... post a pic of the shavings, could be normal wear shavings or could be serious.

My guess is either crank bearings or more commonly rod bearings. I wouldn't ride it anymore until you figure out what it is.
