Check your timing, are you sure the valves are in spec? 7 exhaust-11 in take I believe..

Spark, fuel compressoin, timing. If you have all those you should run

Fuel in the bowl doesn't mean you have fuel in the cylinder.

Zman, it should be: spark, fuel, air, compression. Timing is essentially the same thing as compression, timing would correlate to all four of those things.

I agree w/ 400ex, just cause there is fuel in bowl doesnt mean its in the cylinder. Or maybe too much in cylinder and wont combust with spark. In other words, your carbs could be flooding you out.

If you just installed a piston or cam in this ATV the decompressioner setting will not be the same as the book says. You will have to use a compression gauge to set the proper cranking pressure. My experience has been that the setting will go to .030 to get the cranking pressure high enough to start the ATV

huge problem with the exciter coils going out in the stators for the 06er's. I have had the problem and talked to MANY MANY people who says its not IF it happens to these bikes but WHEN, I just installed a kicker on mine. if you don't want to do that you'll probably have to get a new stator

X2- if your valves are in spec, then check the decomssioner with a compression gauge.

yes it will spark, but it will be weak. It is most likely the stator, mine went out on mine. Started with kick, but it does not fire with electric.

My stator went out and I had no spark, I have a kicker..
If you have spark, I would believe the stator is fine, they are 285 bucks, a lot of money on a whimm.. jmo.
Before I was just stating that all those components together should have a runnig engine but thanks on the verification...

you don't ride an 06 either.but trust me if a quad can have a problem. Z-man has been a victim.

My 2 pesos:

1. Check the spark plug boot........make sure the wire is all the way in there

2. Check the air/fuel screw..........make sure it is 2 1/2 turns out, that is where I have the best luck on 06s

3. Make sure valves are dead on........if you have to get smaller shims other than what comes in the Hot Cams Shim Kit sells, the stealership has increments smaller then .05 mm

4. Clean air filter

5. All wire connections are tight and connected

6. Take aftermarket kill switch off the bike (reducing variables)

I guess it was a little more than 2 pesos, but oh well, I don't come on here much anymore!

Good luck!
