ya you should be all set you shouldnt have to wory about the wiring kits eather just make sure theres enough room between the kick start lever and the fender when you kick it down

no i mean. like it will still start with the electric start, but can get it as a back up. will it need a new cdi, cause on 450rs the kickers have cdis that produce spark at a lower rpm, than the elictic starters. i dont know much on the yfz, i ride a 450r so any help will be appreciated. thanks

yes it will indeed work as a backup! i just installed one on mine by myself at home, and it was very easy! just buy the kick shaft kit from a place online and get a lever on ebay, overall i spent about 120 bucks said and done for mine.

i followed the step by step picture instructions you can find on yfzcentral in the maintence or powertrain section(cant remember which). mine will fire up in a few kicks, but they have to be powerful kicks! ive heard the cam mod helps with making it easier to kick since it advances the decrompression pin. also, you have to kick with the heel of your foot but its easy to do.

i honda is easy to kick when compared to my yfz. 3 of my buddies have 450rs and it is nothing alike. its not that hard to do but i have to have my riding boots on and stand on the kicker then force it down with all 200lbs of me.
