i just installed a stage 1 hot cam into my 300ex today, and i took it around for a very quick spin, it was quiet and running great,

but by the time i got back to the house it was making an awful knocking noise, this noise is not normal,,, so i tore the head off and found the sprocket bolts to be loose, so i tightened and fired it up, it sounded fine, then it started making the noise again, so i have no idea what the problem is, the valves are adjusted correctly, and the bolts are not loose, i did notice that when i checked the timing it was 180 degrees off, so i set it correctly and it still made this noise..

please help me out, im a little confused

thanks for your time

loctite them cam bolts,i had some bolts back out a few yrs back and it broke 3 of the teeth off the crank when it let go,THIS is very important, you'll need a whole new crank if this happens.Trust me on this one, dont cut corners, loctite dem'bolts.;)
