Why am I so slow? I just got my 400 not too long ago and it seems like everyone around me is handing me my arse. Everyone I meet now either has a raptor or a banshee. I was going to mod it out, but my dad really doesn't want me to go into the motor. It seems like the other day I was topped in 5th and a guy on a bicycle blew by me. Oh well, I'm just mad that I'm getting stomped and just had to vent.

for starters you have a 14 toothed fron, that will lose a little top end. For second, if all you were wanting was a drag bike, you picked the wrong one. Go through the woods or on a motocross track, what 400exes were (primarily) designed for.

Well I'm wanting to race next year, do some woods racing and I know I will have to get some motor mods to keep up, I will probably do it anyway. When I first got it, we just did trail riding, but now we ride in a lot of fields and the banshee and raptor guys don't really want to race in the woods. Wonder why?:devil By the way, banshees are no pushovers to the trails either. You get a good rider on one and expect a good fight. Like I said just venting. Maybe a c-dale someday.

nah nah man you got it backwards. Chassis mods first THEN motor mods. you gotta be able to be out ride your motor. NOT having the motor whip your asss all the time. you will be alot faster with suspension mods, a arm mods and tires. you think i might have it backwards but you know what. on a track my motor is basically stock with just a rev limiter, K&N filter, and 110 octane and i have most mx chassis mods done to mine like +2 a arms, Works suspension, 18 inch turf tamers on 8x8 rims, 19 inch holeshot MXs up front with offset rims to give me the full 50 inches allowed. Well with all that done and stuff i have beat c dales on the track and 440's. all becuase i was able to handle the power of the quad better and use more of that power. If anyone else gets what im sayin please support me on this one.

NTP, I understand ya 100%. I'm ordering some elka's in a few days, I was pretty much talking about a straight line, but that's not what 400s were made for.

For XC, a very nice set of shocks is a must! And some nice razr or holshot tires and skid plates.
Im no XC'er, but thats the basics for sure.
You need a quad that wont wear you out fast and is smooth and agile
