I was walking around a pawn shop earlier tonight.... i had originally gone in there to find an Ipod.... I looked up on the wall and there sat a 2007 model Fox V3 pilot helmet.... with a pair of oakley crowbar mx goggles around it, i asked the clerk how much, he told me 30.00... i didn't even think twice i pulled out my wallet... haha

The helmet retails for 370.00 and the goggles for 60.00.... and i got it all for 30...... haha

Only flaw is that there is about a two inch crack on the nose of the helmet.... looks like it took quite the digger.... not too many scratches tho... i'll post a pic of the crack so people can help me decide if its safe to ride with it on or not... either way i still have a nice set of goggles.....

if the helmet has a crack ANYWHERE...it is not safe. there may be other cracks that cannot be seen. if a helmet takes any kind of heavy hit, it should be replaced...hopefully the goggles are good because the helmet is junk

Probably jsut bought a helmet that was thrown out... if it was hit hard enough to get a crack, its trash. Dont even need to see it. If a helmet takes a hit, and doesn't even show cracks, it should be replaced. They develop cracks inside that you cant see. $30 for a helmet that may not work or $370 for one that will work. Is $340 worth your head?

I agree on not even using it if its cracked. But the day I cant afford to buy my own helmet, a new one, I'll just quit riding. I treat my helmet like my underwear. When I buy them, they will be new never worn and I aint loaning them out either.:D

they ain't kidding. If the helmet has a crack don't trust it. Most likely somebody sold that to the pawn shop to keep from throwing it away.

pawn shops should have to report every item of inventory. as a salvage yard for cars i have to so why shouldnt' someone else that deals in a HUGE amount of stolen goods.

a helmet with a crack is a helmet that ill kill you. they are designed to crack at a hit of 3-5 ft dropped on the ground. they spider crack to relieve the pressure from the point of impact. once they do that they won't do it again. so when you have an accident it will not disperse the energy again, therefor inflicting you with more trama then you should have.

i would wear the goggles and hand that helmet on the wall as a suvenier.

i wouldn't even sell it on ebay...either hang it on the wall like gbcap said or just toss it...

I would just hang it on the wall for decoration...I wouldn't sell someone a defective item like that. You don't want them to get hurt due to something you sold them...
