This sort of goes along with my other thread about stalling. I was wondering if any of you guys know who makes a flywheel weight. I beleive the CRF can be used but it is lighter...? Info appreciated.

Trailtech shows the flywheel on their website but they do not make one for the '06 and newer 450R. I have called them several times about one since February and they told me they have no plans to produce it at this time. They produced a few that went to big name racers, but the person I talked to said they couldn't get the timing perfect so they put production on hold indefinitely.

hmmm, I have their +9oz turned down to +4oz for the 04/05... I have yet to try it,... I remember they were having trouble with epoxy'ing their magnets underneaththeir band a while back,... I'm not sure if they were able to resolve some magnets slipping...

They have resolved the magnet issue on the '04-05 flywheels.

i run the crf ignition in mine . its awesome. no more wiring mess!!and i run the crf carb also. it is def lighter and will stall easier than a heavy one .the power is more say like a bike now. i have a 530 falicon kit in mine so together with crf stuff . its a monster!!!
ive been messing with the sprockets but with it back at stock gearing ive got 3 out of my last 4 holeshots and was in second the other!!!

there has already been a dyno tests proving that the lighter flywheel setup will actually loose power... sure the revs are quicker, but a lighter flywheel increases the crankspeed variations and increases pumping losses after the power stroke.

fast rev'r though.....

yeah i know about the tests. but if you heading to a dbl its nice to get the revs there quick and not worry:) . dave terrian who is josh creamers mechanic was cleaning up wiring harnesses .not sure if hes still doing it??
