Well, I have a 07ER. Ive been riding it for a few months now, and it dies constantly. It seems like if your under half throttle and stab it it dies. Also, if your not moving along good it wants to die. Basically, it wears my clutch hand and throttle thumb out, and with the crappy starting habits of the ER its really pissing me off. I was thinking of a -1t front sprockets and takin the idle all the way up, maybe leaning out the main jet some. My friends 04 does NONE of this.

What do you guys think

I sort of have the same problem, well not while i'm riding. I can be sitting still and try to take off and it dies if I barely touch the throttle.

I know all those problems I had with my 06 doing that stopped when i got the HRC kit installed. It even started better.

the leak jet is too big,it is a 70 stock. drop to a 50. this will adress the bog/stall when the throttle is "stabbed".

supposedly a -1 on the front sprocket also helps to allow it to be run in lower rpms, but i had not done that yet.

after i put an aftermarket exhaust on mine, it tends to want to stall less. i think this is more because it is not jetted as lean now.

part of the problem of your thumb getting tired from the throttle is the stiff throttle return spring. replace that with one from tokyo mods and also put a 400ex/300ex/or trx90 throttle on it and it will become much easier to push.

I dont think its a good idea to turn your idle all the way up. I would turn it up some though. Motors tend to run a lot hotter when the idle is all the way up. The -1 tooth sprocket will help a lot. I have an 05 and I did that and it helped. An aftermarket exhaust would open it up some too.

I have heard the Boyseen QuickShot get rids of the bog thats found in the 450r. But I havent tried it.

Hope this helps.

boyeson quickshot is a waste,...i never tried it, but spending $80 on something that can be cured with $7 leak leak jet puts it in the waste category to me...the smaller leak jet does the exact same thing...

I got a #55 leak jet in right now, hmf slip on, no airbox lid and 165 main jet with the stock 42 pilot.

Do you have a FCR air screw? if not get one and dial it in. The spring is pretty self explanatory set it in clock the throttle shaft make sure your throttle switch is good and put back together.

The best thing I did for stalling was my Baldwin XC cam. It just needs more lugging power. I haven't had problems since.
