My son has outgrown his 50cc Chinese import and it's time for him to upgrade. To be honest I don't know too much about the different 80cc and 90cc quads out there. I will be buying it new and It needs to last him at least 3 yrs and hopefully more like 4 yrs. As of right now I am leaning more toward the new Outlaw 90, Primarily because I've heard that the Kawi and Suzi are slugs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Paco.

Go Drr 90 You will be much happier more easy to upgrade and alot more stable, and a real suspension of four inches under him unlike polaris 2in . Alot more bang for your buck and lets face it no one wants to spend a lot but you will with this outlaw just to make it compare to the Drr check out Drr in this forum its not just a race quad .

I dont know what u are wanting to do just play or maybe race, but I have been looking into the these DRR's myself and to be honest after what I have been looking at for the MONEY I don't think u can beat them.
We actualy have a Scrambler 90 and they are along way from being a predator or an Outlaw, but I think with the width alone the DRR is without a doubt safer.
No offense to anyone but thats just my opinion.

myersracing41,thanks for stopping by today, looking forward to seeing the boys riding together.I am thinking we can make the little polaris move.Once again,If you all wanna go to DT on saturday i may have to hold off.I have a skid loader held for saturday and do not want to waste the deposit money.
Hey by the way, what you think of the typhoon, pretty sick little bike.Greg

Your doing the best thing, your asking question's. The polaris is a good quad i have 1,but its very narrow and doesnt have alot of power. Also its very expensive to make it fast, been their tried that,

My son now rides a DRR 50 and 70's both stock and modified.

Here is the big difference in DRR vs others , its the quality of service you continue to get even after buying the DRR. Stock and aftermarket parts are very easy to get. And when we do have a problems you will find DRR and ALL the other owners trying to help solve the problem.

And dont be fooled by crome parts and nice looking shocks.

Check out the DRR forum if you have anymore questions or pm me i can help you find a dealer.

a drx 90 would be a good quad for a 10yr old.

Good luck,

Hey good to find some other mini riders in the area. As far as I know we are going, let me know tomorrow evening. My goodies came in for my YZF tonight, and also got the oil injector off the 90.
I will send you a PM with my cell.
By the way loved the Typhoon.

On the Polaris, stock i have to agree with Ken,it is very tipsy, narrow and lacks performance. But those things can be adressed if you have the extra money to spend. You can make it wide and go very quick. As for as yard busting,it is ok.Track wise,DRX is ready to go,at a decent price.Xtreme is coming around and looks good.Can-Am also have a sweet little bike on the market .Greg

The outlaw is a ok machine. It all depends on what you plan on doing just trail riding or racing. We bought the 2007 outlaw 90 and the 2007 sportsman same machine different plastic. We have had to replace one swingarm that broke and reenforce the other, When the swingarm broke on the sportsman it also took out the output shaft on the tranny. Just a few things to watch for.

I am in the same boat. I tried a TYPHOON don't want to go there again I've narrowed it down to either a DRX or APEX 90 any help on this decision

I went with the DRX due to their customer service and great dealers/distributors. The Apex is a great quad too but overal the DRX was a better choice for me. I don't like the looks of the Apex as much either. Good luck with the choice. You will be fine either way.

We have a '07 and a '08 Polaris Outlaw 90. The '08 is a LE edition. The '07 I switched the front rims around to increase the width from 37 inches to 42 inches wide. Can't get any cheaper than that.

He was talking about his Predator being tipsy not an Outlaw. Good to hear about the rims changing around though.

I'm not trying to be the mean guy here(considering I started a thread for the LE(MDX) model) but my sons 50 can keep up with them. The Outlaw is a nice machine but a 2 stroke 90 will beat a 4 stroke 90 all day long. Please don't get me wrong I think the Outlaw has it's place with it's wider stance(then the Pred.) and reliable 4 stroke engine, but it is definitely not a performance machine in stock form. It sounds like performance parts will be available soon and then we can compare better. Again not trying to be the jerk, just giving my .02 cents. Pat knows where I'm coming from.:D

By the way haynes they are very nice pics. The Outlaw is definitely a COOL looking quad.

The Outlaw is fast enough for my 6 yr old. It scares me as it is when he is going fast or doing dounuts...He has to get a lot more seat time before I try to make his faster. The thing I like most about the Outlaw was its wide stance, reverse ( needed in my area of the woods) cool looks and a reliable dealer close to my house.

Another thing to consider, if you pay 2700.00 for a polaris and them spend another 1000.00 on a few parts you will have 3700 to 4000 in it real quick just to maybe keep up with a stock drx 90. then put that 1000.00 dollors in your drx and hold on.
