I run 3+2 offset in the front rims with stock a-arms. I love my HiPer rims.

stock arms go with a 3-2 and 4-1 if you add +1 a arms. and the offset is how far the rim sits inside..i.e. 4-1 = 4" inside of wheel and 1" outside from hub? 3-2 is close to stock wheels

I recommend 4/1 for all types of riding (except dune riding where 3/2 is okay given that there are few rocks/roots to hit and provide feedback). There have been some other discussions in this forum of the hiper 4/1 and that it is closer to a 3.5/1.5. So it is very close to stock. You might loose an inch of overall width going from stock to 4/1 hipers. The 4/1 gives less unwanted feedback (not to be confused with bumpsteer - this is a totally different issue that I won't expand on at this juncture) as compared to 3/2.
