Pictorial Progression of my 07 400 ex

I have to thank everyone here at ATVriders. I have learned alot in a short time. Still have alot to learn. I wanted to post a progression series of pics to take you from day 1 (4 mths ago) to today. I think the bike really has come along way.


In the beginning. Stock...


Then added the HMF S/O, K&N stage 1, Dynojet kit

Next a simple addon. Powermadds

Now the fun begins. Here is where we start the next series of addons.

Start with a new proarmor mx front bumper and A-arm plates.

Proarmor full skid and nerfs

Now we need some graphics.

Duncan Racing seat/graphics kits

seat back. This guy was a pain in the ARSE!!! but worth it..Take your time with these...dont get in a hurry.

After that, I added a kill switch... thats it for now. Let me know what you think. Be honest.

Looks fantastic! I would square up the hand guards. They look silly drooping like they are. I bent the brackets to line them up with the bars.

pretty nice and clean looking bike. The graphics kit makes the whole thing.
I can picture that bike with elkas or fox floats,
+2 arms
and +2 axle, that would be awesome.
Pretty nice quad.

I hope to eventually start workin on mine.

I wanna get new plastics, Taller handlebars, Trailtech Vapor, handguards, graphics kit, and maybe front shocks.
Im ordering the trailtech this friday!

I love it. Next you should get some nice ITP T-9 rims and Razr 2's or something like that. And some other dress up items. Looks sweet though I love the comparison LOL.:cool: :D

As for the powermads being low...they are...I am having trouble getting them in the proper position without hitting something else mounted to the stock bars. I will get it done when I devote a little time to that.


Next plans...

A-arms +2, actually im going to test a friends bike tomorrow at a track that is +3 and see how I like them.

I have already decided on elkas...its just a manor of time and money... I figure they will be a late winter upgrade.


As for tires. I have a set of razors ready to go on...Im just not going to put them on till next season. The factory tires have great tread left on them and for what im doing for the remaining season...i cant see wasting them.

No one has mentioned shaving the fenders... think I should?


I really enjoy this bike...even just getting new parts and bolting them on is fun...



Oh yea...I have plans for the cam and carb for next season as well...again time and money... think I need to do shocks before anything else...

idk about shaving the fenders. but the bike now looks sick bro, where did u get that graphics kit. and the seat.

Well if your gonna do MX then the a arms sound great. Also get a wider axle with the arms.;) If you were gonna do xc then get a set of nice TCS or PEP shocks and +1 HOUSER arms. And an RPM Dominator axle .:cool: :)

I trail ride for fun. and am just getting into MX. In fact im taking it to the course when it opens today at 2. I hope I like it and persue it.

X3, u get muddy alot quicker too.

And DO NOTT get a carb if you dont have a big bore, if you put the carb on a stock motor without a bore, than your wasting your time.

Well, I just got back from the MX track... LOVED IT. My body, probably didn't love it as much...took a triple set of jump that were close together to fast didn't clear the 2nd... slammed the front tires and my shoulder bounced off the handle bars...after that i took the course at a more reasonable speed...considering I felt like Jello...man...I have a new respect for those that can do this. After several laps I was beat...but still fun... I need to get to the gym if Im going to consider doing this...

yea, they suck...and I probably suck too...i took a beating...but still want more...im just dreading rolling out of bed in the morning.

The course I was on was really designed for motorcycles...the jumps were very very close together...the landing areas pretty short...that combined with my inexperience made it a challenge....but what the hell...it was fun anyway. After about 2 hrs when everything felt like mush and I couldn't push myself up on the bars anymore I figured I'd call it quits before I do some real damage to myself.

Look on ebay. I'm sure you could pick up some used TCS or FOX etc... shocks. Even works with rezzies would be a hell of a lot better than stock! Also look into some 450r fronts and get them revalved and resprung. That will cost about 500-600 dollars for a good set of nice shocks.;) :cool:

just to let you know, I have a set of PEP long travel shocks Im willing to sale. The price is $500. I dont know if your wanting to go long travel or not, but PM if your interested.

try fox floats.they are only 700 new wherever you get em. also they weigh nearly half as much as stockers. i might go to the track today and if i do ill tell you how they hold up. they are very easy to stiffen so thats good.


oh and for tires mxr6 (itp) are suposed to be great on sandy tracks and i run razr mx's and they do great on packed.

if you bought razr mx's all the way and then floats you would be just under 1g

well its 5:15am here i got to get to the cheese wagon.

how do u like ur pro armor nerf bars? I am debating on getting either pro armor(like urs) or ac racing pro peg nerfs/heel gaurd with with finish and white/silver webbings.
Witch would be better?

well i love mmine. if yyou have long legs they aare great. i ahave put mine through he11 and back and they have held up fine. however one of the pegs has bent down =(

I love mine. I have heard from a friend that the AC ones didn't line up as well as the pro armor. I love mine with the heel guard. They are rock solid.
