I have a 2006 Mustang v6 with rims and tires, louvers and intake with under 15,000kms and a dealership in Texas is offering to trade me straight across for a 2003 Nissan 350Z with 55000 miles (about 80,000kms) that is in great shape. Would it be worth it?
And if I'm going to do this, when I get the car shipped into Canada, is there any duties or taxes (additional) that Id have to pay at customs?

If The cars were same year/same mileage, I'd definitely pick the 350Z, but I think you'd be on the short end of the stick if you traded your Mustang for the Z since the Nissan is 3 years older with many more miles on it...

I'd do the trade. 350z are so nice.

kelley blue book has them pretty even in value
(standard options) both in good condition
aprox 16,000 and change. (could bump to 17k with options)
I have no clue what type of taxes would be added to take it to canada.
so, which one do you really want ?
I do think that the z is going to hold value where it is at longer than the 6 banger stang, so in 3 years or so the nissan will prob be worth more

First thing that comes to my mind, "why would a dealership want to trade unless it was in their favor." Why else would they incur shipping costs all the way to Canada just to trade? I think you're going to get hosed, they're probably planning on sending you a POS with you living in Canada you probably won't do much about it. Buyer beware.

For the taxes and such, I'm sure you could get a much new/nicer 350Z in Canada... by selling your Stang here. I know someone who just go like 26 000 for their 06 stang v6.
Taxes and duty will kill you.
