Just wondering if anyone knew what the limiter on the 400ex was? And about how much before that would be optimal to shift?

TIA

9100 RPM is the rev limiter. Shift wise depends what your trying to do. I guess just guage it but in a drag vs something like a banshee I have to rev it high to stay with it

if i remember correctly, stock 400ex's basically stop making power after 7500 rpm's.

I used to think that was the case but in reality the motor is still making power but not peak power.

Maybe someone will post some dyno graphs and explain it better...:D

thanks for the replies. I did notice it does get a little flat up top so i guess that makes sense. Although i do have a hot cam stage II im sure it still flattens out up top.
