Ran our first motocross race this weekend. The studs tore threw the hub. Has anyone else had any problems with this? Otherwise it ran great.

You see how they countersunk the stud. It is only about 3/16 maybe a 1/4 thick at most. My Honda and Suzuki are about twice that thickness. The track we were on the biggest jump is supposed to be 70 ft and several 20 to 30 ft. I'm just glad it broke in a corner. I could not ask for better service though. New hub and wheel (which looks fine to me) are on the way.

Damn, you must have been sailin that thing. Do they make you get a pilots license for flying like that?

I was wondering if anyone knows if the rear hub will interchange with any other machine. Ktm called yesterday and the hub will not be here until 2008. The rim is supposed to show up to the dealer around Dec. 28th. I have tried the 400ex and z400 hubs. The splines are different.

I don't know how true it is, but I heard the Polaris hubs will work. Never heard any issues with them. Do you know anyone with a Pred or solid axle Outlaw to try?

I know one person that has a predator . I will find out and post if they interchange or not.

Polaris and KTM are both using Honda rear bolt pattern and the Yamaha front bolt pattern.

I would find somebody with a Polaris and see if you can test there hub on your axle. Might just work.

it dont matter if ktm used chev bolt pattern.. you have to make sure the splines will work.. so need to find out if the rear axle will take honda and or yamaha splines then you can change hubs..

That's ridiculous that the hub won't be here for you to replace until 2008!!! That's going to be 3 months or more. If they didn't have an inventory of spare parts, they should not have started selling them. PERIOD!!

I thought KTM had their ducks in a row but apparently not. This hub failure is certainly a safety issue as well. I believed that this machine would be superior to the Can-Am, but seeing failures like this, and a 3 month lead time for something as simple as a hub, I'm beginning to think otherwise.

I bet they did have a parts inventory in, but when a hub fails, I bet that they won't give you another faulty one, will they?

Rath Racing now makes new rear hubs in 3 differents types, narrow cross country, standard and mx 50" width. call 320-234-7223 to order 'em.

I talked to the dealer today and I guess they have inventory but they don't have any prices on them yet. That is what the hold up is. I told him that Rath Racing already has them available. So if he doesn't have an answer by tomorrow he is going to get them from Rath. You couldn't ask for a better dealer.
