160-165 main sounds good. I went all the way down to a 40 pilot before mine ran good. Start with your needle in the middle position.

also is there any difference in performance between the atv fcr and the dirtbike one,i chose the atv one because i run thumb throttle and the dirtbike runs 2 cables instead of 1,and the 07 kicker so can run hotstart cable like my stock one,i havent put on yet ,im hoping the wiring for tps is same ,i know dirt bike ones have to be adapted,i will put on after this next weekend, when can test ,dont want to put on and race an unknown combination without ride time for fine tuning

The dirtbike carb has been updated but Honda is still using the older style carb on the quad. I don't think there is a huge performance difference from one to the other. The dirtbike carb has a revised accelerator pump linkage. The older style FCR carbs can be modified to respond just like the new carbs.

There is no problem using a thumb throttle with the bike carb. You just have to plug the extra hole so dirt and water don't get into the carb.

I have the 07 bike carb on my TRX with the 07 TRX airbox and larger filter. It did take a bit of tuning before I got a noticable power increase over the stock carb. Now that it's dialed in I love it.
