Well, i'm 16 so its the last year i can hunt the youth hunt.So i went out yesterday and today and i got a little 4 point, would of liked a bigger one but he has horns and its my first deer so i'm happy with it.Theres a nice size 6 and 8 pt running around out there so we will see what comes later this year. Told myself i was not shootin a doe as my first deer so i'm glad i got this one.

Hit him a little high but it was dead center in his spine, dropped instantly.

I shot it because i have never shot a deer before, i have tons of shots i could taken on does and a number of button bucks but i saw this one so i took it, if i hadn't the people on the other side of our swamp would of, i hear shots every day during gun season over there.

Congrats on your first deer. Don't worry about the size, you can't eat the horns anyway!:D

Thats a good way of looking at it. Getting a 10 or 12 point for the first time would just ruin the next years of hunting anyway.

you guys are lucky. here in pa were only alowed to shoot doe in the junior hunt. i just take my bow allong though, because it overlaps with archery.

First off i can barley understand what you typed, but if they are going to shoot it anyway i might as well take it for a first deer, and like i said that 6 and 8 pt. are still out there:scary:
