Well I just picked up an 07 LTR, and its awesome. The only problem is the dealership stole the manual out of my bike and put it in another when they sold it because it didn't have one. So anyways its about time to change my oil after break in and I was looking at some online manuals from ltr HQ and it says to fill the engine and tank with oil. So this must mean that it only takes one type of oil for the tranny and engine right? So this also means I should run non synthetic like in my old fo hundy right?. Also what type of oil are you guys using?

Thanks

Yes you only use one type of oil. I myself have been using semi-synthetic BEL-RAY "Thumper" oil 20-50 for the last year and a half with no problems. A lot of guys will have different opinions.

if i were you i would make sure you run a bit of synthetic in it. i asked if you could run non synthetic and the dealer said not a good idea. so i run full synthetic.

Full synthetic is fine, just stay away from the stuff with "moly" in it.
I've been running Motorex 4T in mine since the first oil change.

I run Amsoil 20W-50 full synthetic, never had a problem.

the owners manual isnt worth much but I would get the dealer to give one up for the simple questions, also buying a service manual can save you alot of troubles if you do your own wrenching

I used non synthetic for break in, but once that was over with i switched to full synthetic. I doubt it matters too much as long as you change your oil regularly.

I deffinately would not use synthetic oil tell after the motor is broke in, unless you want motor problems. I just bought a 08 LTR and they told me to wait till 100 hours :D

if you look on the side of the oil tank under the radiator it will tell you how much to put in the oil tank, the same goes for the engine amount. some people say to add an extra 200ml to prevent tranny whine but wait and see if you have it yet before you go adding more. good luck you will be fine:) buy a real manuel not the crap the dealer gives ya, little pricey but worth every penny
