as you all know i have a set of elkas tripple rate shocks. Now i am looking for somwthing to keep those puppies clean, but when i look at the stock shocks, the springs are alot shorter so do i need to order special sockwears?

a 16" shock is a 16" shock. The shockwears off a stock 400 should fit. Not unless u have long travels.

16" is from top to bottom, but the springs are longer... and stock 400ex shockwears nd at the bottom of the spring with is athe whole 16 inch shock...

shockwears have a little extra space in them on stock shocks. so they should fit on there. They fit on my Axis, but i guess thats what u can expect from Axis ;)

I would buy the Elka covers. They are built better.

Your current Shockwears on your 400ex will fit your Elkas, unless you have special ordered long travel shocks. The Shockwear rear cover will also fit the Elka rear shock!:)

I used the Shockwears until I got the Elkas shock covers. The Elka shock covers hold up better in the wash, and they are of a different material. Plus they look better than the Shockwears!

I got mine from C&D Racing... 308-696-7805

I have Elka shock covers on my Elkas, and they have developed holes. (I have had them 4 months). The newers Shockwears are a lot better than the old ones. I know Jones uses them.

Yeah mine have holes too. They get it from the SSD Spring.

Yep, that ssd spring is hard on shockwares. I also have the elka shockwares and I got a hole in one of mine the very first time I went out riding.

The shock covers (both Elka and Shockwears) have large diameter holes where the velcro is to remove any build up of water... But my concern is that the cover reduces the amount of dirt the shock shaft receives while riding. Remember, the shock shaft moves up and down... The more the shaft receives dirt... The sooner the shaft/shock will wear. Paint off the springs... No biggie. Shafts wore out... That's a biggie! My 2 cents.

yeah, just keep the shockwears on, and you will never see the springs;)

Heck I take my Covers off after every ride, clean my Shocks, lube them, and then Clean the Covers and put them back on.
