300ex kick start?

Is it possible to take off the electric starter and use a kick starter from a 250x and would it make it lighter? I might be able to take off the entire battery because my motocross track made me take off all my lights but I still think it would need a battery, also could I do it my self for under $350? And could I keep th electric start and use the kickstart for a back up? Any ideas or tips or past experiences are appreciated.

You have to use the 250 bottom end to have a kickstart. Why not just keep the electric start? Button to hard to push?

Well I kind of never liked electric starts anyway and this battery runs out super quick but im not sure if its gone sour or if this is just how 300exs batterys are, plus ive heard of up to 15 lbs weight savings by using a kickstart and ditching the electric start.
