well im gettin my **** back together and wanted to kno, do i put the timing back the way i toke it apart so that its set right or is there a special way to put it back. the guy that helped me take it apart mentioned something called top dead center to me when we were taking the timing chain off is that how you kno its on right or what.

You should put it while using a service manual or with some1 who know how to do it.

Put it wrong way could cues the valve hit the piston or that the spark will not appear on time.

put the engine at tdc, remove all slack from front of timing chain(opposite tensioner), install the cam with the lobes pointing down, then slip the cam sprocket onto the chain and align the horizontal marks on the sprocket with the top of the head. do not move the crank while doing this. then bolt the sprocket to the cam. when you bolt the cam sprocket up, you need to have cleaned the bolts and cam hole threads with brake clean and use medium strength loctite.
