keep (us)me posted im thinking about putting a +3 in my bike over winter with a 12:1 piston which means the compression will be around 12:5 with the stroker crank and piston combo.

how high comp. can you run with a strocker crank. that would be something i would like to see.

its a +3mill with a 12.1 piston with .30 shaved off the head and alittle porting i did
should pull close to 60hp
compression will be HIGH....AROUN 15

becarful.you may want to look into welding the lower kick start gear.my motor has so much compression,it has now spun to of those gears on the shaft.under the ratchet gear,is a shaft with a gear pressed on it.that gear will actually spin on the shaft.
my motor is a 470 stroker,with a 10.25:1 piston,and some seriuos mill action,with a national port.nasty when it runs,but a bear to get started!

so youre saying that with the +3 stroker added 3 points compression? so on a 12:1 it would actually realistically be 15:1 compression? :eek2: not what i heard but i guess i should look into that since i dont want to run race fuel or straight race fuel.

well i shouldnt be looking into that if i am already looking at a 15 to 1. haha. thats like 18 to 1 from what i read in this thread.

the stroker doesnt add much compression, its the fact that he has a milled head. That increases compression.

alright that makes a lot more sense, guess i didnt catch the milled head part

the stroker should add aprox 1/2 point of compression.

why dont you just adjust the decompressor so that you have aprox 100psi when starting.
no matter how high static compression piston you run you can adjust the starting comperssion.

Exactly what I was thinking, no matter what you have done to your motor compression wise, it should start as easy as stock....
