Faster starting?!?!?!

last week at the unadilla gncc i was at the podium when don okerman's mechanic (3rd place pro am) started his 450r. the electric start on it turned over faster than any 450r i have heard and it fired really quick. is there anyone out there that knows what to do to make this happen. i have had the starter clutch recall done on mine twice but nothing seems to help. valves are in spec. didnt know if a bigger battery would help this or not???

Ockerman knows, but from what I have heard, he can't/won't tell. This comes from a guy that races Pro-Am with him. I wish I knew as well.

I believe they put in a higher cranking amp battery, I think I also heard that some are using 24v batteries....?

since honda did the recall you would think they would change a gear somewhere all it takes is one tooth on one gear. sometimes i think honda isnt all there, like not signing borich, natalie or byrd to a factory ride....just doesnt make sense

Nope he uses the stock battery. He wont tell anyone because I believe he is trying to get a patent.
