These are the best I have. I sold this quad, otherwise I would have taken some close ups for you. Hope this helps.

Basically, the battery, solenoid, regulator, and all wires are relocated inside the air box. Really cleans up the area under the left rear fender. My only complaint was that the LSR did not extend up as high at the top. I think more dirt and water got into the air box than a stock air box w/out the lid. But, this caused me to clean my filter more often which is a good thing.

thanks for the responses guys... that does clean it up alot. the only thing i dont like about the air aftermarket aluminum boxes are that it dont use the stock air lid desighn....

I was told Lonestar made the one on my old quad, but I never did any research to confirm this one way or the other.

what brand air box is that?

now... this is just an observation, i dont see any dents or scratches on the bottom of your air box but, it looks like it gets seriously close to hitting should you get the rear suspension fully compressed :huh has anyone run into that issue with em??

specifically.... from the looks of it i think the rear caliper would hit but i dont have one in order to test that issue

cfm-performance made the airbox, they sell on ebay.

its a fresh reconstruction in those pics.. its got a few scratches now(having taken the cherry off a couple of weeks after the pics)but I havent bottomed out

after i read your post, i went out and compressed the shock, dropping the rear end as low as it could go and it doesnt touch. ( funny though..hadnt thought about it until then)

yea... seen them on ebay and ive contimplated it for a while but didnt think it'd make that big a diffrence to offset the cost of one. yea, after looking at yours i realized that the stock boxes were probably notched on the right side for a reason (the rear caliper) and thats when i noticed some dont have the notch in em making me wonder about clearance. i do alot of jumping out in the dunes and on occasion bottom the rear (im a heavy mofo  ) so i dont wanna find out ill wipe out a box in one jump.

Franky G- what are you asking for your box and does that one come with a lid?

Well it came on my quad when I bought it so Im not sure how much faster it made it. I have a stock 400ex as well and all I can say is that the quad with the msd is waaayyy faster. But the one that has the msd is also a 460 stoker and has all of the mods that are in my sig. What I can say is that the holeshot feature is pretty sweet on the MSD. You just hold down the button and hold the throttle down and that will enable you to start off a race the perfect everytime.

thats cool its like a 2step for a car. My friends evo has a 2 step and he can just slam the gas and it only revs high enough to take off without spinning the tires. acceleration is so much quicker when you can limit your rev on the start
