Most people only use the RotellaT 15w40 (White bottle) in the tranny side.
And use the 5w30 (Blue bottle) in the engine side.
The blue bottle is a semi synthetic with molly so its very good in the engine side but can't be used for clutches.

Been using Rotella T "blue" bottol synthetic in my 05 TRX450 since I bought it 6 months ago. After (2) 100 + mile desert races and some long rides, no issues with clutch or engine. Same results in friend's 05 CRF450 and he has run BAJA 250/500/1000 and numerous Whiplash desert races, again, no problems.

We have also used Rotella in a CBR954RR Race bike, RC51, GSXR1000 Race Bike and in a few other rides I've had over the past few years and it has NEVER created any issues.

I'd like to see some scientific proof that Rotella shouldn't be used.

Spend some time over on Thumpertalk in the CRF forums, they all swear by Rotella. Numerous tests have been performed and this oil has the best break down characteristics of any oil test, including all the high dollar synthetics!!

The Rotella 15w40 works great in both sides. I use it in everything including my 04 TRX which is still on the stock crank and main bearings.

Diesel oil is different from atv oil. Each oil is designed for a specific application. Sure its oil and can be used as oil in other cases, but I prefer to use the atv oil that was designed to be in my atv. Thats just my preference, I have no proof to say one is better than the other or not, but as a diesel owner and an atv owner I know both oils are meant for different applications.

I tell you what, I will run my Amsoil this next race, change it and send in an oil analysis, I will then run Shell Rotella 15w40 in the engine side only, and then do an analysis on that. I will then post the results and you all can decide.

Let the science show the results not opinion.

I also have an hour meter on the quad so they oil change intervals will be recorded for time used.

You guna use the blue or white bottle?
Most people run blue in the engine side.

I'd love to see this test tho because I use both Amsoil and Rotella.

I run Rotella 15w-40 and have no problems. Been running it for a long time. Also know others that have ran it for years with no problems what so ever.

Its all up to you. Only you can decide what you want to run.

I think you could run super-tec from walmart for years and not have problems, a lot has to do with upkeep of your quad and oil change intervals.

blue engine side, white tranny side...

the scientific test would be real interesting to say the least...

I will run the blue in the engine side, but I am not going to run any in the tranny. The white is ok for the tranny because it does not contain moly.

Been running the Blue Rotella bottle on the engine side for over a year now with great results.

I normally change my oil after every other ride if not after every ride....

I personally love the Honda Red Bottle tranny oil... Plus I have a butt load of that in my shed.

Would it be hard on the seals or anything on my 04 450R if I changed to rotella from the normal Honda Red and Gold Bottles I am currently using??
