hey im new these forums, but i have had other machines in my day like a rm250, 300ex, 400ex......but i came across this one raptor 660. the deal is a 2001 raptor 660r (blue), with pipe, jet kit, and hot cams. the price is 2000 obo. brand new condition. is that good for this year?

i know they have them tranny and that one way starter bearing, but how often is that to happen for the 2001 660's? is it every 2001 or just some of them. please help

thanks guys

I'm not sure about PA, but in my area (KS) that would be a good deal if the quad was in great shape..

I'd buy it at that price.

Many '01s are still running around with the original tranny parts. If they were used with abandon (quick shifting, clutchless shifting, etc.) then they have probably already had their failures and been replaced. Treat it with respect and it may last a long, long time still...

One-ways will typically fail, eventually. The parts are no more than $250 and its a 2 hour max job for someone with simple backyard mechanic skills. Replacing with the aftermarket units (L&A or L&S) will usually preclude the need to ever replace them again.
