Hey guys, workin on a 93' 300ex and i am removing the axel. However it wont budge. I have the two axel nuts off, but the brake hub is frozen to the splines. I have been whacking it with 4x4 post and a 5lb sledge and it wont budge. Is there a secret, or am i going to have to break out a bigger sledge>

If you have the circlip off that holds the axle nut, heat the hub with a torch. It isnt going to do any harm. The heat should break it loose.

yep had to heat with the torch, then two hits with a 16lb sledge and it came right out. I am goign to bead blast the axle and splines to remove the 14 yr old rust. That hub was nasty, i am goign to bead blast that too. put some anti seeze on it. hopefully i wont work on it again whiel i own it. Thanks guys
