I finally got my quad to the shop to see why the valve train was sounding really really bad. They said there is a chip or a chunk, it may even be some kind of crack. What would cause this. Webcam might not of welded it correctly or it could just be one of those **** happends things. what do ya'll think.

Old, worn out oil will allow that to happen.

I've never allowed the oil to get worn out. When my oil isn't somewhat a golden color I change it. It just got put back together. Do you think the mechanic could of dropped the cam while working on my motor, and that caused the premature failure? Just something that popped into my head. Oh well they are taking care of it for no charge, which I think they should.

If it's one of the hardsurfaced cams, they might of had problems with the welding filler used. Probably why they're replacing it.
