Round 6 of the IATVHSS took place at the Greenhurst Farms just outside of Mount Pleasant, IA. The afternoon race got underway with sunny skies and warm temperatures. Once again the battle for the overall would be between Duane Johnson and Michael Burrows.

Derrick Schrock would jump out to take the lead of the AA class but it would be short lived as Burrows, Johnson, and Gudde would take over the top 3 spots by the time the racers hit the creek.

Luke Upah grabbed the holeshot for the A class with Jerome Rewerts, Bob Ziebell, Zach Davis and John Lucas battling for position after the first turn.

Shane Schrock jumped out front in the +30 class with hopes of extending his points lead.

Shawn Hohneke gets a bad start, key on?, but it wouldn't take him long to make up ground on the rest of the +30 pack.

+30 off the line with Doug Galivan taking a hard tumble in the first turn. Thanks to some of the crew and some muscle they straightened up his bars and he too would be out on the track.

+40 with Pat O'neill and #85 Mark Remsburg setting the pace for the class.

And last but not least is the +50 with Dave Willey dominating the class.

Spectators rushed from the start lines to the second creek crossing to catch the leaders as they came through. Luckily for me no cameras were ready when I did the same thing this guy did and took a slam down the slick hill after the creek.

Jason Gudde worked his way up to third in the AA which would set him up for his best finish of the year.

Luke Upah still leading the A class at this point. Luke would go on to take third. Luke is also currently third in points for the year in the A class with only 3 points separating second to fourth.

2 ways out of the creek and both were becoming slick and deeply rutted. Even the AA riders get hung up from time to time.

Bob Ziebell takes over second in the A class. He is in fourth place for the season. Bob is also a previous +40 champion.

Colby Kostman another A class racer. Colby is second for the year and will have to battle the last round at Montezuma to hold on to the spot.

Mark Remsburg +40 second place for the race and second place in the series. I believe this is shaping up to be Mark's best year racing the IATVHSS.
