Squirrel Hunting

Went Squirrel hunting with my dad and a friend today.


Sucker was up in a tree barkin at me, BOOM first shot hits it, scurried down the tree a little,stuck his head out BOOM,head shot, instant rag-doll.


I was using a 410 shotgun,my dad and friend were using .22's



No pictures cause its still a bloody hide.

Squirrel hunting ??? :huh

They gotta be some pretty big mofo'ing squirrels to be hunting them with a .410 . I mean I've shot a few of them with a pellet gun .... I can't imagine what would be left of them after you nail them with a .410

Do you eat them ??? I can't picture them having much meat if you do.

The .410 shell has 6 shot in it, the shot is tiny so not to bad.As for eating them, i love venison, but squirrel.No thanks.

First off i wanted a hide, i don't run around blasting every squirrel i see.

Second, its a .410 so its not like a big shotgun, and i have hunted squirrels with a 12 gauge before, just use birdshot.

there was like 5-6 in my front yard today. Big too. I wanted to get out my .22 but neighbors were outside.

i blasted my first squirrel with a 12 gauge, he died the first shot, then his claws got stuck in the tree, took 2 more shots to get him down,.



and havent any of you heard of squirrel stew.

Ok dude, its a shotgun 410, not a rifle .410.

410 is the smallest shotgun 10, 12, 16, 20, 28, 410.

Hes not shootin them with a 50 cal like your thinkin, LoL.

i had a friend in alaska that liked squirrel meat, i used to shoot them with my bow.its good practice, small target diffrent angles ect.best part, watching my buddy roast a squirrel on a stick over a fire and eat it.i didnt shoot them and leave them, then again i didnt eat em either my friend did.

Kind of struck me as funny......using a 410 for squirrel. I know it's a small caliber shotgun....but still, it has a wide pattern.

Use a 22.....at least you are forced to aim a little more, lol.

410 is the best gun for Squirrel. You can even buy a 410/22 over and under designed for squirrel hunting.

I must desagree on killing them and not eating them. We take ours put them in dumplins with chicken broth....not bad at all.

There are so many red squirrels up at my cabin that I have to go on population control with the 410. I got like 10 in an hour.

For those of you that think this is wrong. Let one of them get into your garage and just see what they can do.
