Honda TRX 450 R vs. Yamaha Raptor 700

What do you think is better? As much as I like Yamaha I'm going with Honda
on this one, but what do you think.

You are comparing apples to oranges. What kind of riding are we talking about?? MX, dunes, trails.... Why do you like the 450R over the Raptor?

All my buddies ride 450Rs - I'm the only guy with a raptor 700. We all pretty much hang together on wood trails and desert riding. However, at the dunes, I have a hard time throwing my bike around like they do. Going up hills is a different story :) I usually wave as I pass them by...

I think my next bike will be a 450.

i dont care what you read, those suckers are heavy! they are much heavier than the 450s... its a considerably noticeable difference loading those into the truck or trailer...

Bull crap right back atcha!!! My 06 Rapter weighed 393 on the scale right out of the box!! Maybe a 30 pound difference between them(450R). You need to educate yourself before you run your mouth.

ok- well last saturday was the last time i lifted each of them into a truck, and then, just like the many many many other times i have liften them, the raptor felt WAY heavier...

according to yamaha's website, the 450 weighs 350lbs, while the 700 weighs 396lbs... so why dont you educate yourself Dumb *****!!! FYI- that comes out to 46lbs...

and youre the one who started running your mouth- telling him its cuz he cant ride and not cuz the bike weigh different amounts!

so yamaha's claimed dry weight is 396 lbs, but yet, somehow your raptor shaved 3 lbs after adding fuel, oil, and coolant... interesting isnt it? would lead one to beleive youre full of shiz now wouldnt it? :devil:

as far as the 450r weight, on Hondas website it doesnt list one... not that i pay any attention to any opinions written in dirth wheels, but from the spec sheet they have- that they receive from the manufacture- the 450 weighs 350lbs also...

unlike you, they actually put them on a scale, with oil, coolant, and a gallon of fuel, and the yfz weighed 378 lbs while the 450r weighed 379... so they had a difference of 1 lbs- a little bit differnet from your alleged 13 lbs...

so apparently you didnt know all you think you knew...

the fact remains that you cant dispute what i, and many others have experienced...

that it feels much heavier than the 450s- both loading it into the truck and in the air...

yeh the whole supposed 396 isn't that believable, my 660 weighs around 450 give or take, then i dont see a big dif. between the 660 an 700. and the 700 is a better hill climber than a 450 because they are torque monsters, and the wight helps to get better traction an the fact that the 450s are for racing, not hill climbing
