Generally the longer the canister is, the quieter it will be. Ceramic coating is used to retain heat in the exhaust. The hotter the exhaust gasses stay, the faster they flow. Also the outer part of the pipe is cooler when ceramic coated so it is less likely to melt plastic or riding gear.

Dasa designed a pipe for the KFX450. The pipe had a 16" long canister. Once i got it to test i thought it looked alittle too long. I hve seen and tested about 12 pipes for the KFX. The shorter can not only looks better IMO but performs better too. So i have a 13" canister version of the Dasa made. The 13" version is louder, but it also makes more HP. The 13" version of the Dasa pipe made the most hp out of all the pipes tested. Here are photos of both pipes.

Here is the 16" version

I have the 13" dasa pipes custom made for me to sell. The 13" Dasa made about 1/2 more HP and 1/2 FPTQ over the HMF.

HMF pipe -
Peak HP - 45.72
Max Torque - 32.80

Dasa pipe - 13 inch CUSTOM FUELATV version 106db at 3750 RPM
