i recently made the switch to Mobil 1 10W40 4 stroke synthetic racing oil, and Rotella 80w-90 gear oil, im wondering if this is a bad idea cuz when i went riding today it seemed like it was over heating very fast and acted rather boggy. any help before this week would help, i have a race next weekend and id like to get this fixed. thanks

double check and make sure you didnt overfill it with oil. I accidentally did that once and it seemed boggy. Just a thought.

I use 80w bel-ray gear saver. no problems
80W motorcycle gear lubricate is equal to 10W30/10W40 motor oil in weight. If you used automotive 80W gear oil that is way to thick.

I use Rotella 15w-40 and have no trouble with it.
I use Golden Spectro 80W gear saver. Any of the above mentioned are fine also.
