Is there an advantage of having a kick starter compared to electric?
Thanks alot

The electric is horrible. The kicker just starts better. I had an e-start for 9 months and sold it and got a new kicker. I love it and wouldn't go back, unless Honda redesigns the starting system.

Kick is 100% better IMO. It starts on the 1st or 2nd kick EVERY time and i can start it being only 108 lbs.

i have both on mine it started as a electric start. and i got tired of every 1 with a kicker blowing me off the line caz a kick start starts so much quicker.(dead engine start gncc). but i like the electric start when i get real tired and stall it in a race dont take as much effort to push a button lol. but if im gust out trail riding or messing around i always use the kicker its so much easier and quicker plus not as much wiring and no battery to worry about. if u r just going to get 1 to race mx or trail ride get a kicker. but on the xc track i been seeing alot more electric and kick combos.

If you want a new one you better get it ordered now. They are hard to get. 06-up kickers are much harder to come by

If you add a second battery on the e-start and properly tune it you would love an e- start.

That maybe true, as I know the Ockerman's have theirs starting great, but you shouldn't have to do that. Honda messed it up...

yea i have seen those extra batterys mounted in front of the motor and i always said to my self...wtf.

Now thinking about it, i wish i would have gotten a e start and added the kit for the kicker, just cause in a long 2 hour XC race, it sucks if you have to start it half way through the race.

You can mount the battery in the tool kit area or an aluminum airbox with a battery mount kit in it.

I bought an e start to not have to kick it when its hot and I am very happy with my setup. I have been running it since january and it is awesome.

I love my e start have had my 06 for 2 years ride it alot. trails alittle mx and its been great.I have the e start recall kit in the garage but I am not going to put it in till i need it. there have been some big hills (in the woods ) that if I didnt have e start I might have been in trouble.:) :) My 06 runs great starts great and rides great. this is my 6th honda and its been as good as the other. so far.:D

Thats bass ackwards. Its easier to put a kicker on than an e-start.

Buy an E-start, put a second battery on. Wire it to the starter in series. No Kicker Needed.

No probs with my E-start at all 2yrs strong but i did do the update to get it out of the way, one thing i never see anybody mention is battery maintenance, how many of you leave your battery on a tender? j/c mine is on a floating tender all the time when not in use.
