I've been looking at the 700 alot lately and had a few questions.

most importantly have any of you have any problems with them, the motors, tyranny's etc.

how is it at low speeds, do you have to keep it revved up like the 450r.

how does the power compare to a 450r.

i ride mostly rocky muddy trails/power lines and some sand pits how are they in these types of terrains

i have not had any problems at all with the motor so far... i've had it for only a couple months though but its an 06. comparing it to a 450r i wouldn't know because i never seen one go but i would think that the 700 raptor would be a quite a bit better for rough trail riding because it has a pretty low first gear and its got a lot of low end grunt to keep your hand off the clutch more.

I have had mine a year and a half have atleast 250 hours on it no probs yet :D It is great in the trails/sand pits/fields/out on the ice.Compared to the 450 power wise the raptor does not rev as fast but it does not have to to stay with the 450's and yes by 4th your winning the drag race. The 1 thing you have all over the 450 is you just do not have to switch gears every 2 sec's.

thanks for the reply guys. i think its what I'm looking for. something with the pull through gears of the 450 but something i don't have to keep revved up all the time, something i can lug around when i just want to take it easy through the trails. and that awesome power to climb hills and rip through the pits.

You won't have a problem at all lugging it around. My son has a TTR50 that I follow around on the mx track usually cruising in between 1st and 2nd gear and it's not been a problem for me.

I bought the Raptor 700 for exactly the thing you're concerned about...not having to worry about revving it all the time. My son has a TRX 450R which is quite peppy and fun to ride...but you do have to rev it quite a bit. We ride mostly dunes...and the Raptor 700 lugs my 230 lbs around quite nicely. I just put it in 3rd and just go!

ya you can putt around on them w/out problems. they are borderline lean fromt he factory so you might notice some header glow while lugging around. Get a efi controller and that will solve that problem.
