wut is the main cause of backfireing?jetted wrong?

It's usually the idle circuit running to lean.
Richen up the fuel screw on the bottom of the carb, or if that wont fix it, you may need to go up a size on the pilot jet?
I'm taking it you changed exhaust or air filters? ;)

Exhaust leak can also do it.
