wht r u guys doin for winter rebuilds???

i was jus opening up a thread about wht all of yall r goin to be doin this winter for a rebuild....motor work, suspension, tires, wheels, etc...post pics of wht ur goin to be doin for the rebuild...

im getting ready for my first mx season coming up in the spring and im goin to be doin a little work to my 450r this winter....

SMC Fabrication +3 LT a arms
Motowoz LT shocks
Maxxis razr mx front 20x6x10 w/ douglas ultimate conventional 4:1 offset
Maxxis razr mx rear 18x10x8 w/ hiper
RPM Dominator axle

race bike..... rebuilding my gibsons, getting motor freshened up, getting fox's or ohlins titanium in the front, orange lakers, black lsr frame.

practice bike.....
smc +3 lt a arms, old axis fronts off race bike, gtthunder rear revalve and link, hot cam stg 2, cp 12:1 piston, orange lakers, and maybe pc frame black

Hot Cams 2, Rossier Exhaust, Pro Armor Nerfs, dyna cdi, pro armor bumper...so far maybe more to come. Next year will be shocks, a-arms,tires, and rims.

well,, i will be putting both center cases in mine -- trying a hotcams stage 2 or 3,, maybe a big valve job, carb boring, sandblast orange powder from frame to see if it is salvageable- repowdering everything - def new plastic, my NEWER plastic is already falling apart and breaking.-- not sure if imma stickwith the orange white and black or go radical with veins, light blues and textured black?

just go with the slicast housers--- u see anybody runnin them tric tracs>>> i dont-- too many moving parts too much more junk to wear out--- try the reg LT or slicast-- i really like mine -

well, maybe if all gos to plan (which it probably wont) i will be getting +1mm ss valves, new springs, port polish, and 15 to 1 piston. and maybe also some shock rebuilding, skids, handles bars, tether switch, and then i think i will be ready for xc!

15:1 compression?? i have never heard of that high of compression for a 450r plus even if they have that high of compression expect it for overheat all the time espcially if its going to be used for XC..i just dont see any point with going that of an extreme compression ratio all your doing is asking for trouble IMO..

i think i will be fine, i have read lots about this piston and it is going to be extremely reliable, and in my eyes it looks like the BEST piston availble for the 450r, and if i wanted to i could go to 17:1 with head work. after that THEN your pushing the limit

Nothing drastic being done to mine. I can't tear down during the winter, I plan on racing an entire indoor series. I currently have the motor out, and will be rebuilt by Toby at Moto-Xperts. He is also doing my shocks. My quad should be ready to hit the track again in a few weeks.

Matt how did you hear of Toby? He has done my shocks, porting, and went through my engine just a few weeks ago. Awesome job. He's going through my engine this winter too...

Wow thats exactly what my bike looks like right now. Doin most of my stuff as we speak. Having Chino rebuild with a 14:1 Venom and new valves.

A guy named Tyler Sederlund told me about him. I heard good things about him, and decided to send stuff off. He is either splitting the cases on it today or tomorrow. Hopefully I get a good report from him when he calls. haha

My crank bearings were starting to go, and my crank now needs replaced. Oh well, I guess I'll be getting a new crank, and also a new piston while its all apart.

I do just XC, local D15 and GNCC. I'm trying to get Tyler to switch over. lol. Sucks to hear about the engine, but Toby will get you hooked up. Are you having him do the tranny mod or port the head while it's apart?

Nope, he said my tranny still looked good. I'm trying to go as low cost as possible right now. This could be my last season of motocross, depending on where I go to college next year.
