Go for it dude. It sounds pretty sweet to me. I like LT230's and the 250's are great quads too. Small but yet fun and quick.

my dad loved those back in his day, but he said if your gonna buy one, dont go any newer than 86..we were looking at them and they did something in 87 and ever since they havnt been the same....idk much about them, but if you like the quad go for it, those huge seats were a trademakr back in the day and everyone loved em:D

Ya but for a grand I'd say go for it with the mods it has. It could be a fun little project.

They are fun trail quads, the one great thing about Suzuki is it's not a huge ordeal to order parts! I am in the process of rebuilding a lt250r with a buddy of mine and I was amazed how easy parts were to get for it! If your looking for something fun to put around on for a grand you can't really go wrong unless there is obbs and gobbs of gremlins in it, which can happen. :uhoh:

Shoot me a pm if you need some stuff for the LT250R and can't find it. I have a box of stock parts sitting around.

The LT250S was a nice quad. It was made only in 1989-90. And yes, don't forget to kick start it out to the side! ;)

Wow! That was my first real sport quad from way, way back... brings back memories!!!

I never had any pictures and could not find any of the LT250S.

Yes, the kick start is a tad weird and can leave a mark if you get a nasty kick back. :D

I owned it for several years, and at that time I just added gas and oil as needed. Never had an issue.

YES!

I've owned this quad - make sure you pay attention to the model... LT250S - not R...you are confusing the models.

I have one of these actually.....Pay close attention to the swingarm bearings, cuz if they are worn the swing arm will move to the side, throw the chain off and break the cases if it bundles up by the front sprocket.....These and the LT230S were notorious for it. Let me know if you don't buy it.....I would mind rebuilding the one I have since they are RARE.

i just got rid of mine not even a year ago, i got it when i was 7 years old and now im almost 18. I rebuilt it one time and all i put in was rings, other than that it just needed a few odds and ends form normal wear. I wish i wouldnt have sold it it was fun as hell!

I forgot all about this... my 250 had the same issue. Swing arm bearing was very worn and I did have ton's of play... luckily I had it fixed before anything happened. It sure did put some extra wear on my sprockets!

no problem - most people have not heard of the LT250S and confuse it with the LT250R...

Its by no means a rocket ship, but a fun quad. When I got my 400, the 250 felt like a slug. :D
