Hope not, I had three of them...two 95s and a 96.

My 95...I sold with 100K miles on it in 98. The new owner had 250K last I checked several years ago. My 96, I bought with 130K miles on it and took it to 200K before I sold it. One of my closest friends had a 95 with 280K when he sold it to me for $500 so I could have the rear spoiler.

The 96 stick was faster than both 95 automatics. You will get about 25 mpg.

None of these cars had any work performed other than recommended maintenance.

Not a chick car, reliable, I would go for it, sounds like a good deal. Don't buy a car someone has raced around in.

I have an '02 Maxima 6 speed and couldn't be happier with it. That '97 should have the 3.0VQ engine in it which I think was rated one of the 10 best engines of all time. They are quick cars, look good, and get decent mileage. I'd say go for it!

its not a manly rear wheel drive american muscle car but i woudln't call it a chick car. at your age you need something reliable more then something cool. get what you can get as long as you are not going to be putting alot of work into it. it emptys the wallet really quickly if the car needs alot of work.

i think they look decent and are pretty nice cars.

A '92 Z32 for only $2,900 Isn't really fully loaded. For it to be considered fully loaded it would have to be a VG30DETT and I would be willing to bet his is a VG30DE.... You aren't going to find a fully loaded Z for under 10 grand unless you're in a junk yard. Where does he live by chance? I've only seen 2 other Z's around here besides mine and they're both VG30DE which is a total waist of a 300.... If you buy one get the TT. It's well worth the money you'll fork up. I bought mine for $12,900 and have put about $5,000 into it so far just under the hood. I had it dyno'd and it's at 497 RWHP and 417 ft. lb. Well worth the money if you love a car that you can drive daily and take it to the track on the weekends.

Your deffinately between a rock and a hard place. First off a brand new mustang for a 16 year old. Is that really necessary. Second, a V6 is ok if your going to be 16; however in a few years you won't be 16 anymore and the V6 will scream gayness.

If I were you I would by a pile........drive it through high school. Then buy a real car later on.

Would you please shut up about your "Supercharged Turboed" pustang.... Honestly.. They completely ruined the Camaro and the Mustang by giving the V6 option.

deff are. I was walking threw the hallway in school and some sophomore girls come out of there class saying, "I want a red mustang". And the other gril was like "OMG! I want a yellow one!!11!1" and giggled away. No offence to mustang owners. I like mustangs, Id take one in a heartbeat.

Ur liek 14! Ur gonna change ur mind 50 times by the time u can go take ur permit test. Plus where does the money come from?

I am almost 18, drive a beater and would take any decent car i could find. When i can spent $15,000 is when i can make a real decision on what car i want. Just keep ur eyes open for a good deal. Both deals on the maximas sound good to me.

Truth.

ok what you guys think of this deal i scored this moring. 98 maxima gold in color , automatic, moon roof, body clean inside and out and it only has 64,900 miles. i paid 5g. the only thing that sucks is it dosent have a spoiler does any1 no if i can just get a spolier off another 98 and put it on? thanxs steve

Raptor68
09-17-2007, 10:29 AM
Yeah you should be able to get a spoiler off any other late model 4th gen Maxima...'96-'99. If it didn't come with a spolier, and you add a spoiler, you will have another 3rd brake light, since one should be mounted in the rear window from the factory and one should be mounted in the spoiler as well. You can always just remove the bulb from the one mounted in the window or remove the light completely. But then again, I could be wrong and there may not be a 3rd brake light in that year of spoiler anyways.

Sounds like a nice car though, especially cause of the low miles. My '02 Maxima has 61K on it, so 64,900 in a '98 is really good. Post up some pics!

thanxs ya ill post up pics soon. the only thing that sucks is it has steel wheels. im just going to get a set of alloy ones but im leaving now to go get it.

450Rchaser
09-17-2007, 02:32 PM
Spoiler, no problem. Take the carpet off the trunk lid and you should be able to see the spots to drill holes in the trunk lid for perfect mounting on a factory spoiler. It should look liked a small circle where you should drill.

awesome thanxs guys. any1 no of a good performance exhaust. i dont want an exhaust that turns everyones head when i drive down the road haha. but i want it to be a little bit louder and have some good gains thanxs

Definitely check out Cattman Performance...the owner (Brian Catts) specializes in Maximas. I purchased a stainless cat-back exhaust from him and love it.

Check out frankencar.com for exhaust, intakes, etc. I have one of their cold air intakes. They also have good exhaust systems.

Also check out maxima.org. Lot of good info plus they often have group deals on stuff from Cattman and other suppliers.

thanxs man i really appericate it. i was just looking at putting and intake and exhaust in what brand would you reccomed? Also how hard is it to put the intake in looks like a pain.

Raptor68
09-17-2007, 05:32 PM
The intake (cold air pipe - not the intake manifold) is really easy to install and would maybe take an hour. I really like frankencar's intake kits.

The frankencar exhaust is probably a bit cheaper than Cattman's but I don't think you could go wrong with either.

EDIT: Sorry I just realized frankencar doesn't make exhaust systems for your year...at least not yet.

Exactly. I'm 19 in college and paying for everything. I don't know where these kids get the money, but if there's any left over you can tell your mommy and daddy I'll take some...

Btw- I drive a '96 GMC Sonoma 2.2L 5-spd....that's how much money I don't have. At least I save quite a bit on insurance and gas.:ermm:

Holy crap, where do you get paid 14 hr??? I started out working for 5.50 an hour, next job was 5.50 again and got a raise up to 6.70 eventually (thought I was making good money!), did construction for a month at 10 an hour cash, then got a job starting out at 7.50 with an eventual raise to 8.70. Now they're cutting my hours, wages, and position and so my two weeks is in...

Anywhere around here you have to have a 2-4 year degree to get paid 14hr+.
