A stock 06 carb does not have a clip that you can move up or down on the needle, now what. After market needle, shims, bigger
carb?

When I first put my exhaust and air filter on I just bought an assortment of main jets not knowing the needle on my 07 wasn't adjustable- I ended up getting a dynomax kit which included a new needle with adjustable e-clip, assortment of mains and a tool for the fuel mixture screw- It was totally worth it IMO.

It was a bit more money than i wanted to spend but man does it run better now.

I bought the Dynojet kit too, it comes with an adjustable needle. The later model 250ex doesn't have an adjustable needle.
You may be able to buy just an adjustable needle on:

www.jetsrus.com

They also have great explanations on jetting.

I'm going to give dyno-jet a try,I need the adjustable e-clip real bad and that sweet little D tool would be nice to have.I just don't
like their main jets at all ,they really suck with twin carbs, been there done that. They may work great great on the ex with the new VP U-4.2 fuel we got,who knows until you try it.

Yeah, with dual carbs everything needs to be the exact same on each before you can start to balance them.
