have any of you guys heard of that new diesease for deer called blue tounge?? well we found 2 deer dead on the farm we are hunting and i think they may have had it heres the biggest deer we found. Half of his rack was in velvet and the other half wasnt its a shame that he died it would have been a good one to go on the wall. What do you guys think about this?

I live in southern Ky right on the Ky Tenn line and its here also. The creek that we ride in every Sunday has a new dead one every week.
Blue Tongue is not a new desease. It's been around a long time. Only diference is the drought. Blue Tongue is spread by flys and flys do good in a drought.
I live in Todd county and we have it here.

i work on a deer farm and we are constantly cleaning out the water troughs trying to keep the deer from getting blue tongue. its crazy how these little flys can kill so many deer

we found another 12 point a little smaller that the one i posted a pic of.. if you shoot a deer that has it is the meat going to hurt you?
I don't think it's harmful to humans. Not sure, The only reason I know it's been around awhile is because it got bad in the 80's during the droughts we had back then.
