i am wondering if elka still makes quad rate shocks???
they are not listed on their web page so did they stop producing them???

these shocks are long travels right???
and how much do they run at ???

i am wondering becuase someone got me thinking about the houser +3 long travel and elka eltie set up and then i thought about the quad rate shocks and stuff, so is it worth it to have a 4 rates instead of 3, any advantages, disadvantages???

thanks

I believe they are considered "custom" shocks, so they would not be listed. You would have to call or email elka to find out a price.

I highly suggest getting the Herrmannracing.com +3's over the the Housers. Brad doesnt use a male studded ball joint on the top arm that will break or bend, John Houser does.

I got the elka quad rates.

You will get the quad rates when you order long travel shocks unless you ask for triple rate.
Houser has not had problems with that upper heim joint breaking. I've had mine on for a year with no problems at all.

Bro. Gibson stuff isn't that hot. Houser is one of the lightest and strongest because of there unbent design. and they are cheaper then the gibsons. I've heard of gibson swing arms cracking(race buddy's swing arm) And the past race james bank cracked his lonestar. Herrman or hoser is what i recomend. Unless you wanna spend alot of money. then go with leager protraxx. Lobo is a Rip of. It's no different then the herrmanns or houser's

it will be either houser or if someone on here decides to make some a arms i will have to test his out for a reasonable cost, but as long they are not made :D so they don't crack and break my expensive shocks!!!!

you know who you are...

if not houser or herman is my chocie, i was thinking lonestar but some of their stuff aint made the best of quilty.

ow ya forum i was talking about the shocks

everything has a limit before it will break...

especailly when you pound the **** out of it on a mx track it is sure to bend or break...

well thanks again

if you need more wheel travel then get it, yes it is expensive but it is worth it. so many people get long travel a-arms and never use them to their full potential. i do beleive that once you get long travel you will never go without it, but thats only because at that point you need it to ride at your limit.

as far as swing arms go, i had many lsr and a few gibsons in my days, and haven't had any problems that were out of the ordinary. however i had a houser that snapped right in half and left me out of the race.

i thing that i have learned is that people who flat land, case jumps, and land all awkward find themselves with broken swing arms and ball joints or king pins, so learn how to jump before you criticize.
