Main Oil Drain Hole

I bought a 05 used and the main drain hole is stripped out, it looks like before the threads started there is a little space there ? drill it, helicoil with red thread lock and i'll be good togo ? the bolt threads are fine (some kind of metal where as the block is aluminum alloy of a type). all for weight loss for speed !.......
