Is my bike running rich or lean when I am on it and let off and it pops alot and sometimes backfires. I just rebuilt my bike and didnt touch the motor or carb. Wondering if one of the adjustments is off on the carb.

Sounds like you're lean on the pilot. Come out on the fuel screw 1/4 turn at a time and see if it helps.

did you change anything on the rebuild or just a fresh top ?
check for exhaust leaks (did you use a new crush gasket)

4bidden is correct. you are lean on your pilot where your pilot circuit takes over when the throttle is closed limiting airflow and your engine is coming down off the revs still requiring fuel...

bump up the pilot...

I am not sure I know where the fuel screw is? I was reading the service manual and it says the pilot never needs to be adjusted? What do you mean by fuel screw? Do you mean the throttle stop screw? The manual doesnt say much.

The fuel screw is located underneath the carb.. its a flat head screw unless you have an aftermarket screw that is adjustable with your fingers. just look under the carb and you will find it... its the only screw under there i think.
Good luck
