Man i would kill to hunt deer that big. I a not talking about the horns either i am talking about the bodies of those deer. I live in arizona and we got big mule deer but our whitetail is called couse deer and if you shoot one that dresses out to close to 100 pounds its a big one! And the antlers are smaller and more compact but i tell you what it is the hardest big game animal i have ever hunted and i still do it every year.

IMO, now that they are digital, stay away from the 35mm film units (thats what the one is in the link) digital on the low end, 2.0 megapixel will run $100 but youll save the difference in getting the film developed!!

We made some feeding troths for the deer that we put out front, lots of action, other say we saw a NICE 6 point, i'm 16 and i think i can still do the youth hunt i will check and if i can i will be hunting for that sucker.

I'm 16 so i think this is the last year i can do the youth hunt, its this weekend i need to double check but i saw a HUGE 6 point last week on one of my trails by my stand.

Pappy you got it made.Ive been hunting deer ever since i was 16 and the biggest buck Ive ever shoot was a dressed 143 lbs doe lol...I'm just saying that the bucks around here are either old and smart or just not in the area i hunt.The only bucks i ever see are friggin spike horns and i wont shoot spikes.Let them feel safe in the area their in and let them mature into good sixx's or eight points you know....Pappy You got your self a good group of deer to manage.... compared to me oh course lol.. like my shrit? its from buckwear dot com.lol

I dunno about having it made, but I have made progress in getting my little area set up to attract and hold deer. I could go all season with out a kill, and then again i could score big,, thats hunting:p

Is it legal where you live to hunt over food plots and bait?

yes, although I know a few states that dont allow it. I feed year round a supply of corn, minerals, trace minerals and such. The corn husks in the pics are from sweet corn that went in my freezer, the deer munch on it along with the coons:p

i also have 5 different food plots on the property with rape, brassicas, clovers, buckwheat, oats etc that I tend year round as well. I opened up a large section of the center of my woods and planted the entire thing last fall in a mix of differing grasses and fertilized everything (3000 lbs of 10-10-10 along with lime) it hasnt been cheap, but knowing i have decent deer to hunt here at home is worth it, not to mention a better herd.

this week s apple week around here so i will go get a pick up truck bed full to make apple butter, applesause , frozen apples for apple pie and i am sure a few hundred pounds will find their way to the deer:D

funny thing was after we were done i look at the deer trail we were sitting buy, a rub on a tree about 5 feet in front of us, lots of scrapes and a buck is tearing up our little trees we planted around the yard this year as well.

i was using just whole corn up to afew weeks ago when a supply problem cut corn short around here, so I grabbed abag of deer feed, apple flavored. they are small compressed pellets. The deer here love them. I put out about 2 pounds a day and thats it. Just enough to make them want to hang around, but as the pics show, the new food has them staying.

i havent used any other products, just things that help them wether i kill a few or not.

when we were looking at houses, i turned down many, but when i saw this one was smack dab in the middle of the "neighborhood" i knew i could draw the deer in here. there is 20 acres that borders a portion of my land that doesnt get hunted(except by me) and the rest of the surrounding property ...no one hunts.

I have put a pile of corn out and our camera with it.Went back next day no pictures corn wasn't even touched. So i move the camera, no pics again and when i check on the corn its still there. So i move the camera again and the corn is gone completely....deer tracks all around it....

Same thing happened this week so now i think i will just put another bucket of corn out and leave the camera there for about a week...

It may be because of the full moon, we have noticed the deer patterns are totally different from just last weekend. We have some nice bucks on camera but the cameras are out in the woods. WHen i get a chance i will try and post a few:eek2: :eek2:

i had the big 8 at 6 yards at daylight.....something on my sleeve made a noise on my stand and he spooked. The second buck ran and I shot him at 53 yards...blood but after 2 1/2 hours of searching no deer:( I know it was a long shot but I take them at those distances routinely:ermm: I have one more bottom to check before i call it a loss....:( i did not find the arrow either.....so im not sure of where i stuck him
