All and all it took 2 days to do and she did the tuning forks all freehand.I told her she needs to start doing this as an everyday job. What do you guys think!

Looks good! I think she should outline the Yamaha letters in white though...just like a 1" to 2" border around the letters...

yep,she used a charcoal pencil to do the outlines then started to paint. It took awhile to get the tuning forks perfect but in the end it turned out awesome.

Hey dude, hope you don't take it the wrong way, but you asked.

It's cool that she did that for you but
she may or may not be able to draw. The logo is basically a bunch of straight lines and circles which just about anybody could do with the right measurements.

I agree that not everybody can even produce that but it's no indication of drawing ability.

Now if those quads at the bottom were drawn and painted to look that real, then yeah I'd say that is fantastic.

I highly doubt you could do it that good.

Good typesetting and graphic work is certainly a skill. And doing it on a large scale like that isn't necessarily easy.

"Draw" is kind of a generic term. In some context I could see typesetting and graphics reproduction falling under "drawing". If by "draw" you're only talking about creative artistic work then I'd agree--what we see doesn't tell us whole lot about that.

I'm just saying, why quibble over what exactly constitutes drawing? I think you're kind of selling her skill short if you look at that and say, "Well, that doesn't mean she can draw."

And what could you possibly base that on?

For me that's a fairly simple design. I've done many murals, paintings and text for arts sake, and for theatre.

My point was not to bash her, just to point out that he may have been confused at what he was stating.

As GPracer stated. She definitely has some skill, but "drawing"or "artistic" talent is debateable. She could probably do lettering and stuff for work.

Here's another perspective to look at it.
The tatoo artists on Miami Ink or anyplace really. If all they did was take pre-made drawings and trace them and tattoo them on people, would you call them artists? Probably not, but the guys on Miami Ink actually conceptualize and create the drawing from scratch, then trace it onto the transfer paper and tatoo it. See the difference?

I see what you guys are saying.I just put "draw" in the title for a quick headline. As for talent Im gonna say she knows what shes doin when it comes to pen and ink...This is one of her houses she did in pen and ink,she also does schools and other buildings if anyone is intersted!!!!
