I have a thor helmet now and my head gets so dang hot, I almost cant stand it sometimes.

I need a good cooling helmet for racing, I would like to stay with a full mask helmet too:p

Any suggestions?

The Arai VX-Pro 3 is the best venting helmet I've ridden with. It's also the highest overall quality helmet brand I've ever owned.

ya that looks like it has some good vents. How is the weight?

Thats a expensive helmet too:eek2:

Not sure if I want to spend that much since i go threw a helmet or 2 a year:grr:

Its not really my wrecks that hurt my helmets its the tree branches:huh ....they really need a chain saw in XC racing lol

O and the pavement when you forget your helmet on your handle bars and you take off downthe road only to see it bouncing down the road behind you:mad:

My VX-Pro 3, size large, weights 3.36lbs. That's fairly light but not the lightest out there. I have a Vemar VRX4 that is lighter with it's carbon/fiberglass woven shell. I haven't weighed it but I'd guess it comes in under 3lbs. I can feel the difference in my hands. A three pound helmet is light! The quality is good, but not up to Arai standards (almost nothing is though).

Arai's are expensive. If I was only getting 1 year out of a helmet I don't think I'd spend that much either. For middle of the road helmets, I'm not sure which vent the best.

if your willing (might look stupid), but you can get a decent streetbike helmet. the vent good, can protect your noggin up to 180 mph and the have cooler designs, and are extremely comfy:D . but thats just a option

Full face street bike helmets don't work well off-road because of fogging and dust getting behind the shield. Plus, I can't imagine very many street bike helmets are going to out-vent a decent venting dirt bike helmet.

Fox V3 Whitewall is the lightest and best cooling helmet I've ever owned.. And trust me, I never thought helmet weight really mattered but a light helmet creates SOOOO much less fatigue.

Definitely agree with checking this helmet out. See October 2007 Dirt Wheels page 138.

Might want to check out the SixSixOne Flight helmets.

I use one, and have never had a single problem with my head getting the least bit hot.....plus it's really light, and really comfortable.
