These Raptor 250's make it seem like the 350's just need to leave the production market. Tell me wat you think bout them. If you have one tell me if you like it.

Thanks!!!

The raptor 350 (aka the warrior from '87-'04) has been proven itself as very reliable, fun and easy to operate. The Raptor 250 was made to replace the Blaster and compete with the Honda 250ex, suzuki's 250, and the Polaris Phoenix. All of these are entry quads (mostly for beginners, younger teens, etc) I haven't rode a Raptor 250 but I would imagine it is very underpowered, even compared to a Raptor 350.. They are competing in different sales markets.

I cannot believe that they did not put reverse on the new Raptor 250. The 250 is aimed at new riders or smaller/younger riders. This is the class of rider that needs reverse the most. An inexperience or younger rider may need to back their way out of trouble or a trail they do not want to go on. Most smaller riders will have a very difficult time picking up a quad this size to turn around.

I understand not needing reverse for a MX race machine, but all the others today should come with reverse, especially one designed for new or smaller riders.

i think the new 250 is aimed at entry level racers and is aimed at competing with the blasters and 300ex's

Well actually, it may be a 250, but its the first one to actually be a performance quad, unlike the anoemic recons with sporty plastics. think about it.

raptor 350- 20-22hp 370-380lbs
raptor 250- 18-20hp 311lbs

i would bet ya its just as fast, just physically smaller. Just like its younger brother, the blaster. My dad had a warrior, and my blaster was a tee bit faster, and 20hp. the raptor is even lighter, with same power. But the warrior/raptor have proven themselves as good all around quads. They should bump it up to a 400 to compete with the 400ex/z400/kfx400 though.

Power to weight ratio (the 250 is quicker). You loose 1hp for every 10 pounds.I agree that the 250 is geared for the mx racer while the 350 would be for trails. It's nice to have reverse, but is just extra weight on the track.
