My stocker is holding up great.

In installed my 440 after 2 years of abuse on the stock clutch. After a month with the kit... its still holding strong.

Are you sure you need to replace yours with aftermarket?

clutch plates tend to go fast with 440 hi comp kits and stock clutch parts. A basket with good clutch plates will help this contact hinson clutch components they will help you out

CR500 springs won't work in your stock 400EX setup. Try a set of heavier aftermarket springs, they seem to work well for many people.

Go to an 8 plate clutch setup with heavier springs,,sparks sells this kit for like $130,,makes the clutch pull stiffer but you get the power to the ground with this setup,,,I'll be going with this setup very soon..

The Sparks system works great, it makes it only slightly harder to pull, hooks great, havent had the clutch slip yet.

does anyone have the hinsone 8 plate that runs around 1000$? As for myself, i will probably just get the sparks 8 plate like xrider has

My clutch just went out with my 440 kit. Oh well, i put stock plates back in with heaver springs. With install on all part my total price was 271.74. Not bad and i notice it shifting a lot better now, quicker, and it seems to run better. hope that helps :devil

i think it all depends on how you ride. people that aren't having clutch problems probally tend to lug the motor more. my 416 makes my clutch slip depending on my tire size and gearing. also your weight could have an effect on it also. heavier springs should set you back about 20 bucks with shipping from any major shop or online store. the gasket is about 15 or so.

i went with a wb hd complete clutch kit. i got it brand new off ebay for 72 shipped.

i havent put it in yet. my clutch doesn't slip when rididng but more when i shift or gas it then drop the clutch. its not really bad but i do feel it. mostly on the mx track but i also had on 22's which eat up power. make sure your rear axle bearings are good along with your chain and sprockets. this will take away power too

I got a FDO or GT set up on mine. 250r fibers and 300ex steels. Mike machined my pressure plate and sent some stiffer springs. I think I got about $130 in mine, give or take.

I have the same thing that oynot has and I love it. Those springs will never wear out and you will not have problems with your clutch slipping no matter how much power you have.

I think a Hinson Basket, some new Plates and Heavier Springs would work just fine. That would be the Sparks kit and the Basket. TC also has a kit like that I think.

I believe the Sparks or TC clutch kit and a Hinson basket would be best. my friend has a 416 and his stock clutch basket exploded!!!,,so i definately recommend a Hinson basket or equivelant!!

You know Im not real sure, we have never discussed it but If I remember correctly it says on my reciept from TC like $120 or $130 for the clutch plates...Im not sure what setup he uses.

Well I never really asked because he told me to run the stock until it dies. He may just have some Plates and Heavier springs. That wouldn't be to bad.

i know that sometimes when i take off at about 1/4 throttle kinda on a uphill, you can hear a kinda soft grinding noise. it did this more when i had the 16t on the front. can anyone tell me what this could be? the only guess i had was the clutches, cuz everything else is new. like the chain and stuff. and i can only hear it when i take off. thanks

Is your Chain adjust right? It's not to tight or to loose? If not make sure everything is good and tight and nothing is around the chain and stuff that could be making the noise. If it's not of those them it must be your clutch. It just may be slipping.
